Steps to Stardom
Even though Davidson had been through so much at such a young age, he still in many ways lived a typical life of any other young teenager growing up in Staten Island. He attended schools in both Staten Island and Brooklyn, before enrolling at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights and beginning his studies there.
After just one semester at St. Francis College, Pete Davidson began to recognize that his destiny lay beyond the confines of a traditional education. The lure of the entertainment industry and the prospect of stardom beckoned to him. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his extraordinary journey into the world of comedy and entertainment.
Comedy Stylings
From an early age, it was clear to everyone that Pete Davidson was destined to be a star. And not just any star, but a truly hilarious and skilled comedian. He always knew that he had a taste for comedy, but it was actually his friends who pushed him to take the first step into stand-up.
Because it was on a trip to a bowling alley that his pals encouraged him to take the stage and deliver a stand-up routine. As you can imagine, he wowed the crowd. A true comedy genius had been born.
Screen Time
Not long after his first foray into comedy on stage, Davidson began appearing on screen showcasing his talents on TV. His first appearance was on MTV’s Failosophy, followed the next month by a four-episode turn on MTV2’s Guy Code.
But it was his stand-up gig on Comedy Central’s Gotham Comedy Live at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC, that truly put him on the TV comedy map. But no one could have predicted just how big of a star he would become.
Saturday Night Live
As any comedy fan knows, the true heart of American TV comedy is of course the beloved show Saturday Night Live. This is where many of the greatest comedians of today make their name, and Pete Davidson was no different.
However, what did make him different was his age – at a mere 20 years old, he was one of the youngest cast members ever to appear on the show and the first to be born in the 1990s. He quickly became one of the most beloved SNL cast members ever.
Matters of the Heart
As the world began to fall in love with Pete Davidson’s comedy stylings, it wasn’t just the industry and the millions of viewers who fell for his charms – but he also began to win the hearts of some beautiful and famous women.
His first showbiz romance was with fellow comedian Carly Aquilino, who he began dating in 2014. At the time, it seemed like a match made in heaven – but no one could have predicted just how many women in the world of showbiz would end up falling for his charms.
Roasting Royalty
Another much loved and super famous accolade in the world of US TV comedy is participating in celebrity roasts. And Davidson made the genre his own when he became one of the roasters for Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber – and critics hailed his set as the best part of the whole show.
Davidson’s jokes and skits not only made headlines for how funny they were – but also because they were pretty controversial. Thanks to the praise he received on this show, he landed his own Comedy Central stand-up special, “Pete Davidson: SMD”.
