The Confrontation

“You’re in my seat,” the man said, making her blush. Taken aback and with so many thoughts rushing to her head, she couldn’t make sense of what he was saying. She was too distracted to figure out what was going on. She was lost in her thoughts.

But it didn’t take her long to realize her first impressions of the man were completely wrong. It didn’t happen often to Janice, but she was speechless.  And she had no idea what to do or how to regain control of her mind.

Wrong Seat

“Ma’am?” the man said, looking completely confused. “You must’ve read your ticket wrong because this seat is assigned to me.” Hearing these and looking at him she completely got lost in her thoughts and was unable to think clearly.

She was completely out of her element and the handsome man’s presence was sending her into overdrive. But after a few minutes, his words sunk in, which confused her even more. Janice looked up at the seat number, which didn’t help. She knew she was in the right seat, so he had to be the one mistaken.

Double Checking

Janice was exhausted and she needed to be absolutely sure she was in the right seat before she responded to him. So, she grabbed her ticket from her pocket and took a closer look at the seat number. It looked correct, but she wanted to be 100% certain.

She stood up and put her ticket to the overhead compartment, which was where the seat number was. They both said 22A. How could this be possible? Two person being assigned the same seat. It’s either a misunderstanding or a mistake on the end of airlines.

A Mistake

“Then someone must’ve messed up at the office,” the man said smiling. “Because these lovely ladies assured me that this was my seat.” He pointed to the two flight attendants that were directly behind him. Being completely confident in his gesture.

Janice saw the flight attendant who showed her seat when she boarded. They nodded in agreement with him. By this point, Janice didn’t know what to do. Her ticket said she was in the correct seat, but she also knew airlines often double-booked.

Difficult Situation

“If that’s the case, where do you expect me to sit?” Janice asked while getting up from her seat. She didn’t mean to be rude, but she just wanted to sit back and relax after a long day. This was all getting too much for her to take.

She wanted this vacation because she was tired and then this happened. Even though she knew this man hadn’t been at fault, she couldn’t help but give him a nasty look. If he hadn’t been so handsome and wealthy, she could have stayed in her seat.

Huge Misunderstanding

“Oh, you seem to have misunderstood me. I was just joking about the seat mix-up,” the man said shooting her a big smile. “I’m giving you my seat. The one in business class.” Janice couldn’t believe what he was saying.

“It’s the least I can do to thank you for all you have done for our country and what you continue to do,” he continued. She was completely shocked. This gesture has left her speechless and she didn’t know what else to say. She was surprised and touched.
